Farmers gathered in an unprecedented protest in the fall to deliver a simple message to government -- farmers need money and they need it now. Five thousand gathered on the steps of the Manitoba legislature. In arenas elsewhere, public meetings drew a thousand at a time. The message was the same everywhere -- plummeting grain prices and government policy that raised interest rates and taxes. Marten Onofrichuk spoke to a crowded arena in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
