A human rights fact-finding mission in China turned sour for three Canadian MPs. New Democrat Svend Robinson, Liberal Beryl Gaffney and Tory Geoff Scott were expelled for what the Chinese government called "engaging in activities incompatible with their status in China." Robinson said the three were treated as common criminals. (The Chinese didn't spell it out but the parliamentarians think they were booted out because they visited a number of relatives of people jailed after the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.)
