The judge in the Karla Teale manslaughter trial imposed a sweeping publication ban on the proceeding. Justice Francis Kovacs banned the general public and American reporters from the courtroom and banned publication of Teale's plea and evidence. Seventeen-year-old Karen Woodland, who went to school with Kristen French, said it's enough that the public knows that French and Leslie Mahaffy died violent deaths.
