Quebec lost it's longest-serving politician. Gerard D. Levesque died November 17th at the age of 67. Levesque was first elected to the National Assembly in 1956 at the age of 30. He had represented Bonaventure in the Gaspe Peninsula since then, winning 10 straight elections. In May of 1992, he was honored as the longest-serving member of the assembly. The ever-smiling Levesque was modest with reporters.
