On July 6th, New Democrat MP Svend Robinson pleaded guilty to criminal contempt of court for taking part in a logging road blockade on Vancouver Island in 1993. A Supreme Court injunction prohibited anyone from interfering with logging operations at Clayoquot Sound. Robinson served nine days of a 14-day sentence in jail.
