Lissette Barsallo was freed. The 47-year-old Vancouver high school teacher and human rights activist was released from a Peruvian jail almost a week after she was initially cleared of terrorism charges. She had gone to Peru for a three-week holiday with her family. Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Jennifer Sloan in Ottawa announced Barsallo's release.
