Global TV was censured for breaking the violence code on children's programs by carrying the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council said Power Rangers was too violent and taught kids that violence was the best way to solve problems. YTV and the French TVA network dropped it. Global and the show's US produced sanitized Power Rangers, promising less direct hitting and kicking. A Global spokesman said the new Canadian version would allow for plenty of timely messages.
