Thousands of Newfoundlanders lined St. John's harbor as the Spanish fishing vessel Estai was escorted into port. It had been seized for allegedly overfishing turbot off Newfoundland. Fishermen's Union president Earle McCurdy said he was proud of the way Ottawa handled the matter.
