Canadian veterans remembered fallen comrades in early May, on the 50th anniversary of VE Day. In the Netherlands, nearly five thousand gathered at a cemetery at Groesbeek, where more than 2,300 Canadians are buried. Prime Minister Chretien addressed the veterans, telling them the legacy of their comrades is 50 years of peace and stability.
