The Opposition in the Ontario legislature literally stood their ground to protest an omnibus bill giving the Tory government sweeping new powers. They joined arms around Liberal Alvin Curling when he refused an order from the Speaker to leave the chamber. Finally, after about 18 hours, Curling gave in to the call of nature. He was tired, but said it was worth it.
