Up to 10 thousand union workers protested in London, Ontario December 11th. Canadian Auto Workers president Buzz Hargrove said workers wanted to show the Tory government they weren't going to take massive spending cuts and changes to labor law lying down. The changes included lifting a ban on replacement workers and making it harder to organize unions. A number of city-run services were affected, as were the GM Diesel plant, the GM-Suzuki and CAMI auto plants, and the Ford assembly plant in nearby Talbotville.
