Organized labor mounted its eighth day of protest against Mike Harris's Tory government in Ontario on the premier's front door. Harris's hometown of North Bay woke up on the morning of September 26th to pickets blocking the post office and other workplaces. About three thousand workers marched through the streets, chanting "We won't back down!"
