The shooting of a Winnipeg doctor in his home sparked a national manhunt for a possible anti-abortion serial gunman. Police feared the person who put a bullet in the right shoulder of 66-year-old Dr. Jack Fainman could also be responsible for shooting two other Canadian doctors since 1994. Winnipeg police Sergeant Carl Shier said the obvious angle on the shooting was the abortion angle.
