A makeshift memorial for the victims of the crash of Swissair Flight 111 was growing on the rocks adjacent to the historic lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Friends and family left flowers and bouquets, as well as other mementos of their loved ones. Tim Larson of Connecticut travelled to the site with his wife, who lost her uncle in the crash. An emotional Larson expressed his thanks to the people of Peggy's Cove and Halifax for the outpouring of support.
