A Buffalo-area obstetrician, Dr. Barnett Slepian, was shot and killed by a sniper while sitting in his home Oct. 22. It was the fourth abortion-related shooting in Canada and New York state in four years, but the first fatality. Pioneering abortion provider Dr. Henry Morgentaler urged governments and authorities to do something.
