Jacques Carpentier said he felt good that former MLA Dave Stupich pleaded guilty on June 25 to one count of fraud and one count of running an illegal gaming scheme. Carpentier was the president of the Nanaimo Community Bingo Association from 1988 to 1999 and said he knew all along that something illegal had taken place.
