On Nov. 5, Onex walked away from its bid to buy Air Canada after a Quebec judge ruled the offer violated the 10-per-cent individual limit on Air Canada voting share ownership. Onex chairman Gerry Schwartz urged Ottawa to change the law. Onex had wanted to buy both Air Canada and Canadian Airlines, and merge them.
