Tensions at the Saskatchewan legislature reached a peak on Feb. 7 when Premier Roy Romanow left a meeting with farm protest organizers without stopping to explain why his government would not come up with a cash bailout. Some farmers took out their frustration on other cabinet ministers leaving the meeting while one farmer slammed Romanow's move. As many as 50 protesters spent the night in the provincial legislature to back their demands for farm aid.
