RCMP officers seized the tapes of two reporters who interviewed convicted killer Michael McGray. RCMP Constable Derek Williams executed the search warrant at the Halifax bureau of The Canadian Press, saying police were looking for information into the slaying of Elizabeth Gall Tucker in 1985. Agency bureau chief Dean Beeby said the raid was unnecessary and reporters shouldn't be subject to searches. McGray implicated himself in the Tucker slaying and 15 others across the continent.
