BC Attorney General Andrew Petter asked the provincial Supreme Court whether denying gays and lesbians marriage licenses was constitutional. Murray Warren had filed a lawsuit alleging discrimination after he and his partner were told by the vital statistics department they couldn't get married because they were both men. Warren said Petter had made the right move.
