A Spanish woman said one of the tall ships in Halifax had been used as a torture chamber by the former Chilean government of Augusto Pinochet. Patricia Bennetts said one of the alleged 112 victims was her brother, Michael Woodward, who disappeared after the 1973 coup. The captain of the "Esmeralda," Edmundo Gonzalez, denied the claims.
