The Canadian navy and retired submariners said good bye July 28 to the last of the counters 1960's vintage submarines. HMCS "Onondaga" was retired following a sail past in Halifax Harbor. Ted Toyer, of Grand Manan, New Brunswick and Fred Glover, of Ottawa were part of the sub's crew the day it was commissioned. Both said no job compares to being a submariner.
