Jim Coleman, considered the dean of Canadian sportswriters, died at age 89 on January 14th. Coleman had undergone surgery earlier that month to repair a broken hip. Jim Coleman Junior said his father died of heart failure. (A member of the Order of Canada, Coleman is in five halls of fame.)
