Alberta taxpayers found out they'd have to pay nearly 800-thousand dollars to settle a defamation lawsuit filed against Stockwell Day when he was Alberta's treasurer. Details of the settlement were released on January 16th. Premier Ralph Klein was not at all pleased. (The released documents suggested Alberta's justice minister forced Day to settle the case rather than go to trial.)
