Metis leaders were thrilled with the Ontario Court of Appeal's February 23rd ruling guaranteeing their Constitutional right to hunt. Gerald Morin, President of the Metis National Council, said the Court ruling meant all provinces should recognize the Metis have Constitutionally guaranteed rights. (The province of Ontario was given a year to develop a new moose-hunting system that respects the Metis' constitutional rights.)
