One-year-old Erika Nordby nearly froze to death last February after wandering outdoors into temperatures that dipped below minus 20. She eventually collapsed in the back yard and her heart stopped beating for about two hours. Doctor Alf Conradi (kahn-RAAH'-dee) of the Stollery Children's Centre said on February 26th that Erika's recovery was nothing short of a miracle. (Doctors said it could be years before they know whether little Erika suffered brain damage.)
