Prime Minister Jean Chretien expressed confidence in documents released March 27th by the federal ethics counsellor. Chretien said the documents showed he was not in a conflict-of-interest over his part-ownership of a golf course in his riding. Chretien made the comment as he left a meeting with his cabinet ministers. (Even before the documents were released, they were being discounted by the opposition parties.)
