Governor General Adrienne Clarkson paid tribute to the people of Walkerton, Ontario on June 16th. Clarkson headed a list of dignitaries who attended the formal dedication of a memorial for the seven people who died in the tainted water disaster during the summer of 2000. (Clarkson said all Canadians were inspired by the courage the town showed in the face of hardship.)
