Canada Day celebrations turned ugly in Edmonton in the early hours of July 2nd. A riot broke out on Whyte Avenue as the bars were closing about 3 am. Thousands of people were on the street when people started breaking windows, smashing phone booths and park benches. Brent Stauffer was on Whyte Avenue when the riot began. (Only minor injuries were reported.)
