The price of cigarettes took a jump in November. Costs rose anywhere from three dollars to $5.50 for a carton. Health Minister Allan Rock made the announcement in Ottawa. (Rock said the increases were part of the federal government's strategy to reduce the number of smokers by 20 per cent over the next 10 years.)
