An inquest into the freezing death of Lawrence Wegner ended February 14th after more than three weeks of testimony and more than 40 witnesses. Wegner's death was one of several investigated by the RCMP after it was alleged Saskatoon police dumped aboriginal people in remote areas. A coroner's jury made 17 recommendations -- 10 of them concerning police procedures. Vice-Chief Lawrence Wegner said recommendations had already been made in the past.
