Ontario's chief medical officer of health announced August 30th that Canada probably had its first three cases of West Nile virus. Two of the three patients were likely infected in Ontario while the third could have been infected while travelling in the US. Regional medical health officer Doctor David McKeown said medical staff in the province were being asked to pay special attention.
