The Saskatchewan government launched a judicial inquiry into the death of Neil Stonechild. The 17-year-old First Nations youth was found frozen in a field outside Saskatoon more than a dozen years ago. Stonechild's mother, Stella Bignell, said it was a day of mixed emotions.
