Vancouver was selected to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. IOC delegates meeting in Prague picked Vancouver over Pyeongchang, South Korea after two ballots. The third city in the running, Salzburg, Austria was eliminated on the first ballot. The president of Vancouver's Olympic bid called it "incredible." John Furlong said he never thought the bid was in the bag.
