After 31 years in prison, convicted murderer Romeo Phillion was granted bail while the federal justice minister reviewed his case. The 64-year-old convict emerged from a Toronto courtroom July 21st and peered upward when asked what his first impressions were. (In March of 2009, the Ontario Court of Appeal struck down Phillion's conviction and ordered a new trial, and on April 29th, 2010, on his 71st birthday, the Crown officially withdrew the charges.)
