The last ever Progressive Conservative caucus meeting was held in Ottawa on January 21st. The day after, they joined former Alliance members to become the Conservative Party of Canada. New Brunswick MP Elsie Wayne said it was a positive moment, not a sad one. (The last leader of the party, Peter MacKay, said he had no regrets, calling the merger the natural evolution of politics.)
