A 13-year-old boy from Sarnia, Ontario, in need of a new liver, attempted to walk across Canada. Kristopher Knowles attended a chili cook-off in Toronto February 5th as he continued his quest to raise awareness of organ donation. Knowles quoted a couple of slogans that he took on his mission. (Knowles was diagnosed with a rare liver disease as an infant. The condition is usually fatal within a couple of years of birth, but medical advances have made it possible for Knowles to survive into his teens, albeit with numerous operations along the way.)
