Prime Minister Paul Martin suspended three Crown corporation executives on February 24th. Michel Vennat (VEN'-ah), president of the Business Development Bank, was suspended following a costly lawsuit against the company. Via Rail President Marc Lefrancois (leh-FI'ahn-swah) was suspended without pay over the sponsorship scandal. Canada Post President Andre Ouellet was suspended with salary. Martin said the suspensions were a matter of confidence.
