US President George Bush was in Halifax December 1st to deliver a major foreign policy speech. Bush used a little humor while acknowledging the hospitality shown by his Canadian friends. (The reference to "Prime Minister Jean Poutine" was the brainchild of Rick Mercer formerly of "This House Has 22 Minutes." The comic posed as a reporter back in 2000 and made up a story that Canadian Prime Minister "Jean Poutine" had endorsed Bush for president.)
