He was known as "Mr. CBC News." Former 1960's TV news anchor Earl Cameron died January 13th in Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario at age 89 after a lengthy illness. One of his successors, Knowlton Nash, recalled Cameron as a news reader who was as solid as the rock of Gibraltar. (Cameron was the face of TV news in Canada from 1959 until 1966.)
