It was described as the largest memorial in RCMP history. Governor General Adrienne Clarkson was among the dignitaries in Edmonton on March 10th, paying tribute to four officers killed in the line of duty. Clarkson offered consolation to the officers' families on behalf of Canadians. (Upwards of 10-thousand police officers from across North America, as well as citizens paid tribute to the slain men.)
