Kelly Ellard was found guilty of murdering Reena Virk in Victoria. A BC Supreme Court jury delivered the verdict in Vancouver on April 12th, after five days of deliberations. Ellard was accused of second-degree murder in the 1997 beating and drowning of Virk, who was 14. Reena's mother, Suman Virk, said there were no winners in the case. (It was Ellard's third trial. An original conviction in the case was overturned and her second trial ended in a hung jury.)
