NDP and Bloc Quebecois MP's joined with Liberals on April 12th to defeat (164-132) a Tory amendment that would have derailed Liberal same-sex legislation. NDP Leader Jack Layton said it was a healthy vote against the Conservative attempt. (About three dozen Liberal MP's voted with the Conservatives.)
