With CF-18 fighter jets marking the occasion, the doors to the new national war museum were officially opened May 8th in Ottawa. Prime Minister Martin spoke to the thousands gathered to watch the event, calling the museum a fitting tribute to Canada's unknown soldier. (The museum's opening was the finale in a day of celebrations in the nation's capital to mark the 60th anniversary of V-E Day.)
