Another TV personality became Canada's governor general. Montreal-based CBC journalist Michaelle Jean (mih-KYL' zhaw) was the host of the documentary shows "The Passionate Eye" and "Rough Cuts." Prime Minister Martin made the announcement in Ottawa on August 4th. (Born in Haiti and fluent in five languages, Jean replaced Adrienne Clarkson, who is also a former CBC television journalist.)
