On August 7th investigators discussed their preliminary findings about an Air France jet that crashed at Toronto's Pearson airport earlier that week. Real Levasseur of the Transportation Safety Board said rain and a touchdown nearly halfway along the runway likely made it impossible for the plane to stop in time. (The plane skidded off the runway and plunged into a ravine, where it burned. All 309 people aboard got out.)
