BC teachers voted to go back to work and end their illegal, two-week strike. The vote was 77 per cent in favor of returning to the job. BC Education Minister Shirley Bond announced October 24th that she was ready to work with the teachers. (Thirty-eight thousand teachers were off the job for two weeks. Progress was made between the union and the provincial government on funding, but teachers did not get the guarantee they wanted on class size.)
