Fallen media baron Conrad Black and three other former Hollinger International officers were hit with fraud charges in the US. The group was indicted in an alleged scheme to swindle millions of dollars from the company. US prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald outlined the charges at a November 17th news conference in Chicago. (Black faced eight charges in an 11-count indictment. The group was accused of cheating the company's US and Canadian shareholders as well as Canadian taxation authorities.)
