Paul McCartney and his wife Heather staged a high-profile, anti-seal hunt protest on barren ice floes in the Gulf of St. Lawrence last March. McCartney asked Canada to consider options to end the annual hunt and called for action from Prime Minister Stephen Harper. (The McCartneys were taken to the ice floes by members of the US Humane Society.)
