A Canadian soldier in Afghanistan was seriously wounded in a bizarre attack on March 4th. Colonel Tom Putt, deputy commander of Canadian forces in Afghanistan, said Lieutenant Trevor Greene of Vancouver was sitting down for a meeting with village elders when he was struck in the back of the head with an axe. Canadian soldiers gunned down the attacker, but Colonel Putt explained that wasn't the end of the situation. (Greene is a member of the Seaforth Highlanders reserves in Vancouver.)
